Savills Workplace & Design led a recent relocation and Category B client fit-out with a clear objective: deliver a contemporary, assured workplace without creating unnecessary waste. The brief demanded identity within a corporate headquarters, sustainability embedded into material decisions, and delivery under an accelerated programme.
Spanning 23,842 sq ft across two floors, the project required a careful balance between reuse, renewal, performance and responsibility.
Karta was engaged early to support that balance, starting at floor level, where material choice would influence both environmental impact and everyday experience.

Rewriting the role of commercial flooring
From the outset, Savills worked closely with Karta specialists to ensure the flooring strategy aligned with the wider design intent and sustainability objectives. This was not about retrofitting a “green” product at the end of the process, but about making material choices that supported programme efficiency, longevity, and occupant wellbeing without compromising on design.
Together, Savills and Karta specified Kozler Wide Plank from our Recycled Leather Series throughout the space.
Kozler offered Savills the reassurance of a high-performance, plastic-free floor system, alongside the design depth needed for a high-profile corporate environment. Built from recycled leather fibres and natural materials, this staple of our Series aligned with the project’s commitment to reducing reliance on virgin plastics and avoiding unnecessary waste.
Material matters, especially in a project where the intelligent reuse of existing Category B elements was already central to the brief.
A floor that sets the tone
The interior concept called for warmth, texture, and a sense of calm continuity across collaborative zones, breakout areas, and circulation spaces. Kozler delivered that foundation.
Inspired by real planks reclaimed from Polish vodka barrels, the floor carries a layered palette developed over time in light beige, soft brown, warm grey, and subtle golden tones. Natural knots and grain span the surface, along with the original timber’s skip sawn texture, captured in ultra-realistic high definition using our patented printing technology. These variations introduced natural character, grounding the space while remaining flexible enough to support a variety of working environments. With no repeats in 20 boards, Karta floors are the final word in sustainable surfaces for open-plan spaces in retail, leisure, and workspace environments.
Kozler sits comfortably within the modern, sweeping workspace, yet still softens the reception and breakout areas designed for connection, informal meetings, and decompression.
The result is an interior that feels welcoming and considered – not corporate, not cold, and certainly not vinyl-led.

Material efficiency at scale
The reuse of existing Cat B elements reduced material turnover and shortened the programme. Specifying a floor made from recycled and natural fibres further supported that approach, minimising embodied impact while delivering long-term durability suited to a busy headquarters.
Karta’s plastic-free construction also contributes to healthier indoor environments, an increasingly important consideration in hybrid workplaces where staff expect comfort, safety, and material transparency.

Performance in every setting
The finished space now supports a wide range of working styles and functioned. Areas for hosting focused tasks, collaboration across teams, informal meetings, and moments of pause are underpinned by a Karta floor. Kozler plays a central role in visually unifying the workplace while offering the resilience required for daily use.
For Savills, Kozler provided a solution that met design ambition, programme constraints, and sustainability goals simultaneously. For the client, it delivers a workplace that feels authentic, grounded, and future-ready.
For us, it reinforces what Karta was created to do.
