For too long, the flooring market has been dominated by synthetic options such as Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT). While thought to be convenient, these products come with hidden costs: pollutants, harmful microplastics, and very limited recyclability. The environmental impact is significant, with plastics contributing to long–term waste problems and affecting both indoor and outdoor ecosystems.

Karta is the antidote to this problem. Our floors are made from 100% natural fibres, completely free from plastics and harmful pollutants. Even at the end of their life, every Karta product is fully recyclable and biodegradable, meaning they return safely to the planet without leaving a trace.

We have replicated timber sourced from places with remarkable pasts, from the storied floors of Winston Churchill’s War Office to centuries-old planks from St George’s Hospital. To maintain the highest level of realism, our timber library ensures there are no repeated patterns within 20 boards, an industry-leading achievement that delivers natural authenticity even in large, open spaces.

Each Karta floor is finished with Karta Plated®, our specialist AC5-rated topcoat. This not only delivers exceptional durability for high-traffic areas but also avoids plastics, petrochemicals, and SVOCs (semi-volatile organic compounds), protecting both people and the environment.

And because we reclaim forgotten offcuts from the timber industry, no new trees are felled to create Karta floors. This means we preserve the legacy of these materials while crafting products designed for the future.

Recycled Leather Series

A true industry first, the Recycled Leather Series takes waste leather from other industries and transforms it into a resilient, tactile flooring surface. We replicate 18 natural tones, each taken from unique originals in our wood library. There are no recolours, only authentic, naturally-occurring beauty.
