Horwich Works was the story behind our Loco Works Range of printed floors. Built in 1885 by the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway is famous for building locomotives. And for decades was the largest building in Europe, capable of housing over 100 locomotives.

During both World Wars, Horwich Works was requisitioned to make weapons and tanks. It produced a staggering amount of precision engineering - over 1800 locomotive engines made and 50,000 repaired in addition to its military output.

Our reclaimed pitch pine imported during the 1880s, were the oldest growth timbers that came to Britain and display some of the tightest growth rings we’ve ever seen.
